Huddersfield Oktoberfest 2010 Beers of the Festival

Here are the results of the Beers of the Festival Competition held at Huddersfield Oktoberfest 2010.

Overall Beer of the Festival:  Castle Hill 4.6% abv, Mallinsons, Lindley, Huddersfield

Mild of the Festival:  Midnight Bell 4.8% abv, Leeds Brewery, Leeds

Bitter of the Festival:  Cheers Charlie 3.9% abv, Mallinsons, Lindley, Huddersfield

Strong Ale of the Festival:  Castle Hill 4.6% abv, Mallinsons, Lindley, Huddersfield

Stout/Porter of the Festival:  Ossett Treacle Stout 5.0% abv, Ossett Brewery, Ossett

Speciality Beer of the Festival:  Rum for Cover 6.5% abv, Fernandes, Wakefield

David Charlesworth (‘Charlie’) Award for New Beer of the Festival: Cheers Charlie 3.9% abv, Mallinsons, Lindley, Huddersfield

Two local beer festivals

Two local pubs are holding beer festivals this weekend.

The Pennine Manor, Nettleton Hill Road, Scapegoat Hill, Huddersfield, HD7 4NH (map) are holding their first beer festival between Friday 29th and Saturday 30th October 2010.

The Lockwood, Woodhead Road, Lockwood, Huddersfield, HD4 6ER (map) is holding a beer festival with over 20 real ales from near & far between Friday 29th and Sunday 31st October 2010.

Oktoberfest 2010 beer list now available

Huddersfield Oktoberfest Beer & Cider Festival 2010 will take place between Thursday 14th – Saturday 16th October 2010. Once again, it will be at the Sikh Leisure Centre (APNA Venue), Spring Grove Street, Huddersfield, HD1 2NX (map). We hope to see you there – either helping, drinking or both.

Huddersfield Oktoberfest Thu 14th – Sat 16th October 2010

Huddersfield Oktoberfest Beer & Cider Festival 2010 will take place next week between Thursday 14th – Saturday 16th October 2010.

Once again, it will be at the Sikh Leisure Centre (APNA Venue), Spring Grove Street, Huddersfield, HD1 2NX (map).

Branch Meeting at Marsh Liberal Club

Our next Branch Meeting will be at Marsh Liberal Club, Marsh, Huddersfield, HD3 4AL (map) at 8pm on Monday 27th September 2010.

We will also be presenting the award for Mild Club of the Year 2010.
