The Rat & Ratchet was a deserved joint winner of the Huddersfield CAMRA Pub of the Year 2011. A permanent feature on the Huddersfield Real Ale map for many years, it continues to offer a large range of quality real ale through the thirteen handpumps. A great supporter of mild, there is always one on offer (though as their Mild & Cider Festival was in full swing at the time, lots and lots of milds were available).
The Rat also was the winner of the Huddersfield CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year 2011. Six real ciders and two real perries are always available, a range unmatched in Huddersfield – though again many more were on offer during the festival.
