The Sportsman was the winner of this year’s Mild Pub of the Year award. Voting was open to CAMRA members, Ale Talk readers and regular drinkers. A staunch supporter of mild since it opened, the Sportsman always has a dedicated mild pump amongst the 8 handpumps on the bar. LocAle milds such as Golcar Mild, Mallinsons Emley Moor Mild & Taylors Dark Mild are often featured – though on this day it was Moorhouse’s Black Cat Mild from Burnley.
