On Saturday 15th December 2012 at 7:30pm we will be holding our Branch Christmas Social at the Sportsman, Huddersfield, HD1 5AY (map). Some food will be available.

Huddersfield Oktoberfest 2012 Beers of the Festival – corrected

Here are the results of the Beers of the Festival Competition held at Huddersfield Oktoberfest 2012. Apologies, previously Mrs Bloke was missing as joint winner of Beer of the Festival.

Mild: Black Lightning, Owenshaw Mill, Sowerby Bridge

Bitter: Quasar, HDM/Mallinsons, Huddersfield

Strong: Yakima IPA, Great Heck, Great Heck, N Yorks

Porter/Stout: Burnout Stout, Brass Castle, Pocklington, E Yorks

Speciality: HDM 4 CC IPA, HDM Brewing Co, Huddersfield

Branch Diary

Evening rail social to Greenfield & Stalybridge on Monday 13th Aug

On Monday 13th August 2012 we will be having an evening rail social to Greenfield & Stalybridge. Meet at Huddersfield Rail Station and buy a day return return to Stalybridge. Then catch the 19:30 Northern train from Huddersfield to Greenfield (arr 19:51). We will spend about an hour in the Railway, Greenfield. Then we will catch the 20:51 Northern train from Greenfield to Stalybridge (arr 21:00). Then you have as long as you wish in Stalybridge Refreshment Rooms, and return to Huddersfield by a suitable train.

Huddersfield Mild Crawl on Monday 14th May

As May is Mild Month, on Mon 14th May we will be doing a Huddersfield Mild crawl. We will start at 7:30pm at the Slubbers Arms, Hillhouse, HD1 6HW (map). We will then move on to the Sportsman, Huddersfield, HD1 5AY (map), to arrive at 8:15pm . And onwards after that, as the mood takes us.

Cider Pub of the Year Presentation to the Rat & Ratchet on Thursday 3rd May

On Thursday 3rd May 2012 at 8pm we will be making the Cider Pub of the Year Presentation to the Rat & Ratchet, Chapel Hill, Huddersfield, HD1 3EB (map).
