Double Presentation & 2 Beer Festivals

We will be presenting both the Pub of the Year & Cider Pub of the Year awards to the Rat & Ratchet, Huddersfield (map) on Sat 1st May at 8pm.

We hope to see you at the presentation.

This coincides with the Annual Mild & Cider Festival at Rat & Ratchet on Sat 1st – Sun 2nd May. Beer & Cider list is available here.

Also, from Fri 30th Apr to Mon 3rd May, the Old Bridge Hotel, Holmfirth, HD9 7DA (map) will be holding their Ale Festival. Starts midday Friday. More info here.

Two local beer festivals this week

The Star at Folly Hall, HD1 3PJ (map) will be holding their Spring Festival this week, held in the marquee as usual. The festival is open Wed 24th March, Thur 25th  5pm till 11pm and Fri 26th – Sun 28th 12noon till 11pm. Over 60 beers on, all cellar cooled and hand pulled.

The  Rose & Crown (Nook), Holmfirth, HD9 2DN (map) will be holding their Spring Beer Festival between Thu 25th – Sun 28th March.

White Cross & Shepherd’s Boy Beer Festivals

On Thursday, it is the start of the Annual Beer Festival at White Cross, Bradley, Huddersfield, HD2 1XD (map). Last year was a sell out, and I am sure that a varied range of excellent beer will be on offer this year. The opening hours are:

  • Thu 11th Feb, 6pm-11pm
  • Fri 12th Feb, 6pm-11pm
  • Sat 13th Feb, 11:45am-11pm

Just up the road in Dewsbury, there is also a Beer Festival at the Shepherd’s Boy, Huddersfield Road, Dewsbury. It runs from Wed 10th – Sun 14th Feb, and promises a selection of Winter, Scottish & Local ales.

Why not pop along for a pint or two?

Here are the results of the Beer of the Festival Competition held at Huddersfield Oktoberfest 2009.

Strong Ale of the Festival:  1845 6.3% abv, Fullers, London
